Hey Reader, Welcome back! This week, we're sharing with you a new, free AI tool from Google that can create entire marketing campaigns, a ChatGPT prompt that builds your perfect brainstorming foil, a fantastic video breaking down the unexpected ways AI is affecting modern businesses, and more. There's a ton of great stuff to get to today, so let's get right to it... πͺ App of the Week: Pomelli by Google Labs Use Case: Easily Generate On-Brand Content for Your Business Link: Pomelli (Free, Not Sponsored!) Why you should care: It's an AI tool designed to help small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) create entire marketing campaigns that are on-brand and scalable. Pomelli works in a three-step process: first, it analyzes your website and generates a "Business DNA" profile for your brand. Then, it uses that Business DNA to create a variety of campaign ideas for your business. Finally, Pomelli creates high-quality, customized assets for you to download and use. Here's how to start using Pomelli today:
Once Pomelli has generated your initial campaigns, you can review them, edit them, and create entirely new campaigns by explaining your idea to Pomelli in natural language. This is the kind of AI tool that most companies would charge you an arm and a leg for, but Google is letting you use it for free right now. There's no guarantee that it will remain free once it comes out of the "experimental" stage, so go check it out and take advantage of this tool while it's still free! π° News That Matters: Your Next Performance Review, Courtesy of AI
Link: JPMorgan offers staff AI chatbot to help write performance reviews | Financial Times Why it matters: This week, banking giant JPMorgan Chase announced that it will give employees the option to let an in-house chatbot write year-end evaluations. The upside for JPMorgan is obvious: time is money, and managers are expensive. Using an AI tool to reduce writing time could speed up the employee evaluation process tremendously. However, there are also potential benefits for employees that may not be obvious at first glance. Most notably, AI models have far less emotional bias than humans. A human-written report will always contain some level of bias, whether positive or negative, simply because the person writing the report knows the person they're writing it about. If a manager likes an employee, they may write a more favorable report than they even intend to. If an employee and a manager just don't "click", then the employee might get an unfairly negative report even though their work has been satisfactory. One important note: humans are not out of the mix. JPMorgan says employees are ultimately responsible for final submissions, so they copy/paste at their own risk. This experiment from JPMorgan aims to answer the question "Can an AI improve the employee review process by speeding it up and removing human bias?" And no matter what the answer is, this won't be the last time we see a company try to use chatbots to speed up employee reviews. If JPMorgan's experiment succeeds, others will immediately copy the model and implement it themselves. If this first experiment fails, JPMorgan and its peers will try to understand why and try again. So whether you get regular performance reviews, write them, or both, pay close attention to this story, as the results of this first experiment will set a precedent for the rest of the business world. π Prompt of the Week: Create Your Perfect Foil Prompt Formula: Follow-Up Prompt: Quick Description: In the first message, ChatGPT builds a detailed description of a person who would naturally balance your thinking style. Then, in the follow-up prompt, you βactivateβ that persona so ChatGPT can actually become them for the rest of the conversation. The more context ChatGPT has about you, the better this prompt sequence will perform. If you have good Custom Instructions set up, it will work well, but if you have Custom Instructions, curated Memories, and Conversation History turned on, it will work much better. How to Use:
