Claude on Mars, New AI Features in Chrome & More!

Hey Reader,

Welcome back!

This week, Anthropic and NASA combined forces to achieve a first for humanity, and we'll talk about what Claude on Mars means for the future of AI and human space travel in News That Matters.

Plus, we'll break down all of the new AI features coming to Chrome browsers, share with you a prompt that you can use to improve your ChatGPT Memories, and more.

Let's get right into it...

Use Case: Upgrade Your Web Browsing with Modern AI Features

Link: Chrome (Free, Not Sponsored!)

Why you should care:
If you've tested a dedicated AI browser like ChatGPT Atlas or Perplexity's Comet and thought to yourself,
"this is cool, but I'm just going to keep using Chrome to be honest..." this update is for you!

Google just announced a bunch of new AI features coming to Chrome browsers that promise to make getting things done on the web easier than ever.

Here's the breakdown:

  • Gemini Side Panel - Chat with Gemini directly in Chrome to summarize pages, research topics, and way more. The new side panel allows access to the other features listed below.
  • Nano Banana Integration - Google’s state-of-the-art image generator and editor is now directly available in the Chrome sidebar so you can transform or remix images without downloading or re‑uploading anything.
  • Connected Apps - Gemini in Chrome can connect to Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, Google Flights and more, which lets it use context from the apps you use to help with web tasks.
  • Personal Intelligence - The popular personalization and customization features Google recently added to the Gemini web and mobile apps will be "coming soon" to Gemini in Chrome as well.
  • Chrome Auto Browse - A major new agentic web‑browsing feature. With Auto Browse, Chrome can now perform multi‑step tasks for you, from filling out forms to comparing products and even doing your shopping for you.

As for security, Google says they "built Gemini in Chrome with rigorous security standards and introduced entirely new defenses to help protect you from new types of online threats." (Check out this Architecting Security for Agentic Capabilities in Chrome article for more information on security.)

So go check out Chrome to see what features are already available to you, and keep your eye out for the rest of these updates rolling out soon!

📰 News That Matters: Claude on Mars

NASA’s Perseverance Rover Completes First AI-Planned Drive on Mars | JPL/NASA

Why it matters:
NASA announced this week that the Perseverance Mars rover completed the first-ever drive on another world that was planned by artificial intelligence.

A team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California worked with Anthropic to use vision-enabled Claude models to create a safe route across Mars' surface, all without the input of human route planners.

This is exactly the kind of complex, decision-making task that historically has always required a human (or a dozen) to be in the loop, but may be outsourced to AI going forward.

And for once, this is a time to celebrate an AI taking a human's job.

Here's why: space exploration is not well-suited to humans or our current methods of communication.

It's very difficult to send a human being to Mars, which is why so far, we've only sent rovers.

Even then, the vast distances of space mean that simply sending a robot and having a human control it from home becomes more and more difficult the further out you get.

For a Mars mission, the communication delay can be anywhere between 3 to 22 minutes, depending on the distances between Earth and Mars at any given time.

What this means in practice is that a human controlling the Mars rover has at minimum a 6-minute communication delay: when the rover reports something, it takes 3 minutes for the report to reach Earth, and then after the human gives a command, it takes another 3 minutes for the rover to receive it.

And that's just for Mars.

If humanity ever wanted to explore more distant reaches of our solar system like Saturn, we'd be dealing with time delays in the hours, not minutes.

Unless humanity can come up with a communication method that is faster than light (not very probable), our best bet for exploring the universe is creating AI systems that can explore it for us and report back without us having to babysit it every step of the way.

Claude on Mars is simply the first step in that potential future for space exploration.

📝 Prompt of the Week: Search for Missed Memories

Prompt Formula:
Look at our recent chats and figure out if anything we’ve talked about should be saved as a Memory.

Quick Description:
ChatGPT's Memory feature is great, but it's inconsistent. Many times it will save relatively useless information while not saving critical context from your conversations. This prompt is designed to make sure ChatGPT hasn't missed anything important in your recent chats.

Note: this prompt only works properly if you have "Reference chat history" turned on in your ChatGPT Personalization settings.

How to Use:

  1. Open a new chat in ChatGPT.
  2. Ensure "Reference chat history" is turned on.
  3. Copy the above prompt formula.
  4. Paste it into ChatGPT.
  5. Send the prompt!

ChatGPT will analyze your recent chats and see if it "missed" anything that it should have saved to memories. It will likely find some information and ask you if you want to save it as a new memory. Decide for yourself whether you want to add it or keep your memories as-is!

Combine this with a manual cleanup of old or outdated memories, and you’ve got a super simple workflow for keeping your ChatGPT Memory sharp and relevant.

📽️ Video of the Week: I Paid $1000 to Test Clawdbot (So You Don't Have To)

video preview

Over the past week, Clawdbot (which briefly became Moltbot before transforming again into OpenClaw thanks to legal threats from Anthropic) set the internet on fire with its never-before-seen AI capabilities.

In this video, Igor explains and showcases this new agentic AI and points out what it does well and what it doesn't.

Spoiler alert: you might not want to drop $1000 on a setup like this just yet unless you have a very good idea of what you want to use it for.

🎤 Discussion of the Week: How to Prompt AI Brand Video Ads

This week, AI Advantage Club member Suzanne Puzaras shared a prompt workflow they've been using to create ads for brands.

She showed an example of her work and filled her post with prompts, keywords, and sequences for the rest of the community to try out.

Then she hopped in the comments to help troubleshoot issues and answer follow-up questions about platforms!

And this is exactly what the AI Advantage Club is all about: members learning how to use AI to improve their work or personal lives, sharing what's worked for them with the community, and growing together.

Come join the conversation! Sign up for the AI Advantage Club for $1 for your first 30 days.

That's all for this week!

See you next Thursday.
