🪄 App of the Week: Claude

Why you should care:
Anthropic's Claude AI platform has consistently been a contender for "best AI on the market" and this week, a barrage of updates makes Claude's claim to the throne even stronger.

First up: Anthropic made Claude's ability to create and edit files available for all users, even those on free plans. This feature lets you turn conversations into Excel spreadsheets, documents, PowerPoint slide decks, and PDFs directly, and while it was originally introduced in September of 2025, it was locked behind the paid Pro and Max plans until now.

Anthropic also lowered the barrier to entry for the Claude for Excel integration, which lets Claude work directly in Excel to analyze data, write formulas, create charts and graphs, and much more. When originally introduced, Claude for Excel was only available for Claude users on the prohibitively expensive Max plan, but as of this week, it's available for all users on the $20/month Pro plan.

Finally, Anthropic introduced Interactive Tools in Claude, which lets you connect external apps to Claude and then use those apps directly within the Claude interface. This means you can now build timelines in Asana, draft messages in Slack, create diagrams in Figma, and work with other connected tools all within a single Claude tab. Interactive Tools are available to all users on paid Claude plans and will be coming to Cowork soon.

📰 News That Matters: What The Eleven Album Means for the Future of Music

For years, AI music tools like Suno and Udio have blown us away with what they can create, but they've also gotten into serious legal trouble due to how they trained their AI models.

This week, ElevenLabs released a project that could signal the end of the "wild west" era of AI music.

The release is called The Eleven Album and features legendary artists like Liza Minelli and Art Garfunkel using the Eleven Music AI model to create fully original songs.

ElevenLabs explained:

"For some, the model served as a creative spark. For others, it became a way to explore unfamiliar sounds or reimagine their existing process. Each track on the album is fully original, blending the artist’s signature voice, style, and musical instincts with new creative possibilities unlocked by AI."

What really sets Eleven Music apart from other AI music tools is ElevenLabs' commitment to working with artists and the music industry. This is in stark contrast to the "better to ask forgiveness than permission" approach taken by Suno, Udio, and others.

The Eleven Album is a true creative collaboration between humans and AI, and it’s a sign of where the future of music may be heading.

Instead of AI replacing musicians, tools like this could expand who gets to be one.

This album is a proof of concept showing how AI can give indie creators, storytellers, and filmmakers a way to produce compelling music without needing access to a studio or a label.
