Hey Reader, Welcome back! We're seeing a shift in the AI landscape as the year draws to a close, with OpenAI losing its lead in AI and competitors like Google, Anthropic, and DeepSeek finally catching up and perhaps even surpassing OpenAI. We'll break down exactly what's going on with OpenAI's "code red" situation, plus we'll show you how to use a new AI platform to edit your videos with natural language, share with you a prompt we should have shared a long time ago, and more. Let's get right into it... πͺ App of the Week: Kling O1 Use Case: Edit Videos with Natural Language (And Way More!) Link: Kling O1 (Free to Try, Not Sponsored!)β Why you should care: Kling O1 is similar to other AI video tools like Runway, but rather than making you switch tabs or navigate around the website to use the different tools and features, you can do everything right in the singular O1 interface. Without leaving the chat interface, you can generate a video, modify it, restyle it, generate the next shot, and more. Here's how to get started with Kling O1 today:
Use the various features and tools you learned about in the walkthrough video to modify and extend your creation to your heart's content. βFor way more information on how to properly use Kling O1, check out this user guide provided by Kling. Kling operates on a credits system, so you'll be able to test Kling O1 for free, but you'll need a subscription if you want to keep using it. So go test it out and see if it's something you want to add to your AI toolkit! π° News That Matters: OpenAI Declares a Code Red
Link: OpenAI CEO Declares βCode Redβ to Combat Threats to ChatGPT, Delays Ads Effort | The Informationβ Why it matters: The Information reported this week that Sam Altman sent an internal memo to employees warning they'd be having a "rough couple of months ahead" and that OpenAI needs a "code red to combat the threats to ChatGPT". Because right now, OpenAI is being attacked on all sides. On the business side, more and more high-end clients are choosing Anthropic due to Claude's software engineering abilities. If you're a programmer or a coder, you probably use Claude. That's a big problem for OpenAI, because this is where most of the money is made. If you're a solo developer or a small team looking to integrate AI into what you're building, you're almost certainly choosing one of the DeepSeek models, which nearly match OpenAI's models while being open-source and much cheaper to use. And finally, as if that wasn't enough for OpenAI to deal with, Google is beginning to take the average chatbot user as well. For the past year, ChatGPT has held around 85% of the consumer market share, but that's changing rapidly with the improvements to Google's Gemini chatbot. Google's recent releases of Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro look like the straw that broke the camel's back and caused Sam Altman to send this internal "code red" memo. So what does this mean for the future of AI going into 2026? OpenAI was the clear frontrunner in AI for the past three years, but it looks like OpenAI's unquestioned reign may be coming to an end. If you've been a die-hard ChatGPT user, it may be time to start testing some other options, as OpenAI's market lead is slipping, and only time will tell if this "code red" push will help them right the ship. π Prompt of the Week: Get Contextual Explanations Prompt Formula: Follow-Up Prompt: Quick Description: The first prompt is to confirm ChatGPT actually has access to the page, as some web pages restrict LLM access. Once you know ChatGPT can read the page and has the proper context, you can use the follow-up prompt to explain anything on the page. How to Use:
As you can see, a 9-step process is a lot. To use this prompt workflow properly, you really want to commit the workflow to memory and quickly type out your own version of those prompts whenever you find a web page you have a question about. Good luck and happy prompting! π½οΈ Video of the Week: The AI Music Race Is Over For the past few months, AI has been taking the music industry by storm. We've quickly moved past "Will AI ever be able to make music as good as humans?" and moved straight into "AI artists are climbing the Billboard charts" in less than a year. βIn this video, musician Rick Beato talks about his personal experience with AI music tools, the anecdotal evidence he's gathered from his friends in the music industry, and the recent data that suggests that the AI music war may already be won. Watch it to learn what AI tool these artists have been using to climb the charts! That's all for this week! See you next Thursday. Much Love, Follow The AI Advantage: Written By:β |
