Hey Reader, It finally happened: OpenAI revealed the highly anticipated GPT-5 to the public, and they went a step further than anybody expected, making it freely accessible to anyone with a ChatGPT account. We'll break down all of the GPT-5 details in News That Matters, but don't miss the other goodies in this newsletter! ElevenLabs put out a new music generator that blows the competition out of the water, and Google DeepMind released an entirely new kind of AI called Genie 3 that is capable of creating interactive, 3D worlds in real-time. All that and more below! Let's get right into it... 🪄 App of the Week: ElevenMusic
Use Case: Create Music with Natural Language Prompts Link: ElevenMusic (Free to Try, Not Sponsored!) Why you should care: ElevenMusic is a new AI music generator that you prompt with natural language, just like you would with ChatGPT. This makes it much easier to use than keyword-based AI music generators like Suno or Udio. Outputs are royalty-free and ready for YouTube videos, ads, podcasts, or any other project. Key features include studio-grade audio, multilingual vocals, section-by-section editing, and more. Here's how to get started with ElevenMusic today:
ElevenMusic will then take you to the editing interface and begin generating your track in real-time. After a few minutes (depending on the length of your song and the number of variations requested), you'll be able to listen to your song and begin editing it. There are two main ways to edit your track:
ElevenMusic is surprisingly deep, and even though this is a longer App of the Week section than normal, we've only scratched the surface of what you can do with ElevenMusic. It is a pay-as-you-use credits system, but new users to ElevenLabs get 10,000 credits, and in our testing, we only spent a couple thousand to generate multiple songs. So go give it a try today! 📰 News That Matters: GPT-5 is Finally Here! Link: GPT-5 and the New Era of Work | OpenAI Why it matters: OpenAI announced their next generation AI model in this livestream, and they didn't disappoint. First off, GPT-5 is smarter across the board, as seen in its performance on both academic and human-evaluated benchmarks. It tops the charts in math (94.6% on AIME 2025 without tools), real-world coding (74.9% on SWE-bench Verified, 88% on Aider Polyglot), multimodal understanding (84.2% on MMMU), and health (46.2% on HealthBench Hard). To steal Sam Altman's metaphor: GPT-3 was like talking to a high school student, and GPT-4 was like chatting with a clever college student, but GPT-5 is like talking to a legitimate PhD-level expert in any area. GPT-5 is a reasoning model, but in contrast to all previous OpenAI models, it has the ability to "think just enough". The model will analyze each prompt sent and determine whether reasoning is necessary or not. Users can also force the AI into the reasoning mode by explicitly asking for it in their prompt. One point OpenAI made sure to hammer home in their presentation is how effective GPT-5 is for coding tasks. Greg Brockman described it as "the best AI model at agentic coding tasks", and the co-founder and CEO of Cursor joined the stage to share just how impressed his team has been with the new model. GPT-5 will call tools, work for minutes at a time on tasks, design beautiful frontends, follow instructions precisely, and accomplish it all incredibly quickly. The GPT-5 update for ChatGPT also brings some additional upgrades like an enhanced Voice Mode that is now more widely accessible, native Gmail and Calendar integrations, color customizations, and a new "Personalities" feature launching in research preview. Technically, OpenAI isn't just rolling GPT-5 out; they're rolling out three new AI models: GPT-5, GPT-5 nano, and GPT-5 mini. GPT-5 will become the standard model for ChatGPT for all users on all accounts. This means even free users get access to the new GPT-5! Once hitting the unspecified usage limit, free users will be switched to GPT-5 mini. Pro users can expect unlimited usage and access via GPT-5 Pro. So what are you waiting for? Go start using GPT-5 today! Not sure where to begin? Check out our Prompt of the Week below for a great place to start. 📝 Prompt of the Week: Generate Relevant Ideas Prompt Formula: Quick Description: How to Use:
After a few seconds (or a couple of minutes, depending on how complex your request is), GPT-5 will create an interactive web app designed specifically for your use case. 📽️ Video of the Week: Google DeepMind's Genie 3 Creates Worlds in Real-Time Google DeepMind just revealed Genie 3, a general purpose world model that creates dynamic, interactive worlds you can navigate. And it does it in real-time. Check out this video to see Genie 3 in action. It's only available for select testers at the moment, but Google's been moving fast recently, and they'll have to keep moving fast if they want to keep up with OpenAI. This is one Genie that won't stay bottled up for long. (Sorry, I had to.) 📢 Community Highlight: AI Agent Orchestration Workshop
Later this month, Igor will be hosting a workshop in The AI Advantage Community where he teaches members his favorite methods to create, organize, and manage AI agents. Igor has been using Claude Code for all kinds of both personal and work projects, and in this session, he'll show attendees how they can turn their favorite prompts into standalone AI agents. Not only that, he'll demonstrate how to orchestrate these agents so they communicate effectively, collaborate autonomously, and complete full workflows. Interested in attending? That's all for this week! See you next Thursday. Much Love, Follow The AI Advantage: Written By: |
